Luz Romero’s Biography
Luz Romero joined Yaffa & Associates an Associate Attorney in 2017. She graduated from Florida International University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and later earned her Juris Doctorate degree from Barry University School of Law in 2016.
Luz is a member of the Florida Association of Women Lawyers (FAWL) and the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA)
In 2015, Luz became a Supreme Court Certified Legal Intern where she represented indigent youths in Juvenile Delinquency matters. She fiercely represented her young clients as they faced criminal penalties, but most importantly, she helped them cope with the difficult personal and emotional issues that their families faced. This work helped develop Luz’s passion for working with families and their children as she went on to work for multiple boutique Family Law firms. She strongly believes in the intimate, small firm environment because she has the ability to foster a more personal connection with each client all while vigorously serving their legal needs.
In law school, Luz was the Marshal of the professional law fraternity, Phi Alpha Delta and a member of the Women Lawyers Association. Additionally, she was recognized as an advocate, placing in the top 32 of her law school’s Moot Court competition.
Luz was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela and she is fluent in Spanish. In her spare time, she enjoys to travel abroad and hopes to one day reach all seven continents.
